Perma-Hand Suture, Black, Size 4-0, 18", C-1 Needle is a sterile, nonabsorbable surgical suture composed of silk, an organic protein derived from the silkworm. The natural silk fibers undergo processing to eliminate inherent waxes and gums, resulting in a purified strand that is biologically inert and well tolerated by tissue. 

The suture is coated with a special wax mixture to enhance its physical handling properties. This coating improves pliability and facilitates smooth passage through tissue, minimizing trauma during placement. The suture's smooth surface also contributes to better knot tying performance, ensuring the surgeon can secure tissue with confidence.
